Skating is damn hard and favors the young. It takes a long time to master the sport. It takes a lot of pain and flexibility. Also, money. It's very hard to get the time you need to be good when you're older and worrying about earning money to live.

I admire skaters a lot, the enormous discipline they must have to do this sport is completely crazy
