Referees in wrestling play a crucial, yet often overlooked role. Beyond enforcing rules, they help guide the match’s flow, ensuring safety and timing. Their subtle cues to wrestlers maintain the illusion of competition. Iconic referees like Earl Hebner and Charles Robinson became part of storylines, showing how integral they are to the spectacle.

Referees can only do little with interference from other wrestlers who are not involved in a particular match. We have seen it happen in the past, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen in the future. As long as the match is not cancelled at every interference, referees won't have much impact at the end of the day.
