The Rise of Mobile QBs: Is the Pocket Passer Era Over?

Post by Sheba »

With players like Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen thriving, mobile quarterbacks seem to dominate the league. Is this the future of the NFL? Or do traditional pocket passers like Tom Brady still have a place? How do you see the evolution of QB play and what it means for the game.

I don’t think the pocket passer era is entirely over, but the rise of mobile QBs has definitely changed the game. Players like Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson have proven how valuable mobility is in today’s fast-paced NFL. However, pocket passers like Tom Brady and Joe Burrow show there’s still room for traditional styles in the right system.

While pocket passers like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers remain effective, the versatility of mobile QBs is becoming increasingly valuable in today’s NFL.

I don’t think the pocket passer era is completely over, but mobile QBs are definitely taking over the spotlight. Players like Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, and Lamar Jackson are showing how dual-threat abilities can change games. Still, traditional pocket passers like Tom Brady and Joe Burrow prove there's still room for that style. It’s about adapting, and the best QBs today blend both skills.
