American Le Mans Series: A Heritage of Endurance
American Le Mans Series: A Heritage of Endurance
Before merging into IMSA, the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) brought world-class endurance racing to the US. Races like Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta remain iconic. With GT and prototype classes competing simultaneously, the action was unparalleled. Do you miss the ALMS era?
Re: American Le Mans Series: A Heritage of Endurance
I definitely miss the ALMS era. The diversity of car classes racing simultaneously created such dynamic on-track action, and races like Petit Le Mans had a unique atmosphere. IMSA has done well, but there’s something special about the ALMS’ roots and the fierce competition it brought to US endurance racing.
